Report Antonella Marchese
Participant Orientation Course
Skills Relational Operators for Voluntary Social
The volunteer, talk about it much, is a great resource for everyone - but for himself what resources can be drawn? Surely the course above and I attended is a great resource for those who want to approach the social voluntary and therefore the interest and care for others, especially people who live in situations of distress. I say near, because surely the true wealth is the constant practice according to their own free time or their own choices. I have dwelt a bit 'to begin my report on this course, but it served mainly to myself, to find the starting point, the point where I decided to participate and take advantage of this opportunity.
I had in the past volunteer experiences in the sense that I have placed my free time for others, but it is the first time I put a first step, a first card, in what, even if not have precise form, is my project for participation in society.
The course gave us lots of information and opportunities offered by the simulation.
Some are well established in the mind - see the three Ds - say the unsayable, dell'indubitabile doubt - to decide the undecidable. Consonant is never been more effective for me to remember that you can easily think of things and also say "bad" without being considered "bad guys", that nothing is really sure if we do not want, and that above all we can really decide for ourselves in our lives.
Then there are the general guidelines of what to do when "we are the operator who listens to" the warmth, personal attention, listening, empathy. Everything is even more useful if I remember - and I hope it happens more frequently - even in daily life towards others and not because of myself.
I understand that anyone who wants to help others, can not propose his own solution, but those who assist in the identification and implementation in front of "his" solution, in the discovery and exploitation of "their" own personal resources.
also lectures on the verbal and nonverbal communication have been very instructive. It 'important to at least pay attention to who we face, his posture, tone of voice. Every detail can help us get closer to those who want to help.
Information and knowledge are definitely more consolidated with the experience with their implementation, I've always known. Then the simulations are well! I must confess that when I volunteered for the simulation of the difficulties that I had not expected, however I felt lost and afraid to make mistakes like I'm actually in front of a real user who knows what he expects from me, and on one occasion I necessary to impose to listen, which I thought was natural when you do "operator", but no. The advice, solutions and focused that I received from the coordinator and other participants have contributed to better understanding of my limits.
Having attended the course I was satisfied both in content and for my personal enrichment. But I want to add that individuals have done much to create a nice family atmosphere: the coordinator, the organizers and, last but not least, the participants.
